How to Purchase a Poster from our "Collections" section.
You can place an order for a custom print of any item in our collections. Because of the varied level of detail in our digital files, some items can be printed larger than others. Some can be printed as large as 8 ft. wide, while others are limited in size to a 12x16 or 12x18.
Though these will be printed to the specifications of your order, the pricing is the same for all images. To place an order, identify the item number and size you want. Scroll down for details.

We don't sell posters from inventory. We print when we get the order. That is why we invite you to tell us what you want. For example you may want an image printed without all the text we show in the sample. You may want 4 different steamboats printed the same size with no border. We may add a charge for preparing a special print, but you will know the charge in the order acknowledgement, and it will be very reasonable.
This web site has two sections:
The first section is the collection of 32 World War I posters that we chose as our favorites. For the first year or so, these were the only posters we offered. Each of the 32 has its own purchase page. Now we have added many more wonderful posters in different categories that you can access from our "Collections" page. These posters are described in less detail. Each is available in several different sizes. To purchase a poster from our Collections, please go to the "Purchase" Page, where the process is a little different. We ask you to complete an order form or send an email explaining what you want. Then we send an order acknowledgement to your email with an order number. We don't want you to make a payment until after you see and approve the order acknowledgement. This way you will know exactly what the cost will be and what you will get. Also approximately when you will get it. Typically, a customer is dissatisfied when he or she gets less than or pays more than expected, and this is what we strive to avoid.
About Our Prints
Each of our WWI posters and most of the other posters on this site is printed from a digital file that reproduces a poster printed a hundred or more years ago. In many cases, the original old poster was an imperfect lithographic print, in which the multiple colors were not always in perfect register. Color printing as recently as 1990 was not what it is today, and certainly in 1918 was nothing like the color printing possible today. Most of the old posters had yellowed and darkened over time, and many had scratches, tears and fold lines. Some of our friends have suggested maintaining the yellowed, beaten up look for authenticity, but we have chosen to do our best to make our prints look like new with no signs of wear and tear.

We use PayPal to process payments. When you click on the add to cart button, you are redirected to the secure PayPal web site. You can use your PayPal account or a credit card.
Orders of Multiple Prints
Our pricing includes shipping. That is convenient and makes sense if you order just one print. But if you order 3 prints, we can probably ship them in the same package, and you shouldn't have to pay for shipping 3 times over. This is another reason for the order acknowledgement. Tell us what you want, and we will figure the shipping and tell you the overall cost.
Return Policy
The last thing we want is a disappointed customer. For that reason we do our best to describe the product accurately so you know what you are getting. Still, if you are disappointed in your poster, we want to give you your money back. Please retain the shipping carton so you can send the poster(s) back to us for a refund. You don't need to apply for a return authorization; just return it within 30 days. We ask that you return the poster(s) in good condition and cover the cost of return shipping.
